How to get around Baleia, Itapipoca and travel from Fortaleza Airport.
Welcome to the coast of Ceará! Baleia is a quieter coastal destination, so transport is not always as easy to find on demand as it is in a large city. For the smoothest arrival, especially if you are coming from abroad, we recommend arranging your airport transfer or longer journey before you travel. This guide includes practical planning tips and a few transport companies whose public websites list transfers in Ceará. Contact providers directly to confirm availability, prices and whether they serve your exact address in Baleia. Good to know: “Taxi” usually means a local ride, while “transfer privativo” is a pre-booked private car or van for an airport or longer-distance journey. For the trip from Fortaleza Airport to Baleia, ask for a fixed quote for the full journey rather than assuming an ordinary city taxi fare applies.
Book longer journeys and airport pickups in advance, especially for late-night arrivals, weekends and holidays. When you request a quote, send your flight number and landing time, the exact address or Google Maps pin for your accommodation, the number of passengers, and how many bags you have. Ask for the total price in writing and confirm whether waiting time, tolls, extra stops, night service and return journeys are included. If you need a child seat, space for sports equipment or a larger vehicle, mention that before confirming. Agree on the payment method in advance, and confirm the driver's name, vehicle and meeting point before leaving the airport. In Baleia and other quieter coastal areas, a ride may not be available immediately on demand. Keep your driver's WhatsApp details and have a backup plan for your return trip.
